Wade King is an experienced human rights, equity and safe disclosure practitioner; with over 15 years of experience in the public and not-for-profit sectors. He currently serves as an Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Consultant with NorQuest College and also offers services as a private consultant. Mr. King is a popular speaker and facilitator, working with a variety of employers, labour organizations, professional organizations and community groups. Wade was the former Director of Safe Disclosure & Human Rights at the University of Alberta, a position he held for 11 years. In 2018, he was seconded from that position to the City Manager’ Office in Edmonton, Alberta as a special advisor on equity, rights, respectful workplaces and disclosure practices. Outside of work, he is an active member of equity focused organizations, such as the Canadian Association for the Prevention of Discrimination and Harassment in Higher Education (CAPDHHE) and the Edmonton Business Diversity Network. He has also volunteered with community organizations such as the Pride Centre of Edmonton and the Edmonton Fringe Festival. In 2019, he was awarded the “Distinguished Administrator Award” by CAPDHHE, an award bestowed by his peers across Canada.
