Nadira Barre joins the Colbourne Institute as the Anti-Racism Consultant. Nadira most recently led the Resiliency Project, funded by Public Safety Canada which was a collaboration between the City of Edmonton, the City of Edmonton Police Service and the Organization for the Prevention of Violence. As the Partnership and Development Specialist, Nadira worked with a wide range of stakeholders to document concerns related to violence, extremism, hate crimes and racism and led community engagement on identifying and addressing these issues. She has an extensive background in anti-racism education, theory and practice and is skilled at working with and across difference and engaging multi-disciplinary teams in complex organizations. She also has expertise in project evaluation and establishing and tracking key metrics. Nadira holds an Honour Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto’s Munk School of Global Affairs with a Speciality in Peace, Conflict, and Justice Studies and a Minor in Political Science.
