With a genuine passion for education, accreditation as a Chartered Professional Accountant, and experience working within a variety of industries, Greta Wierenga brings a wealth of knowledge and skills to her position. She has been an Instructor at NorQuest College since August 2017.
Greta began her career as a Staff Accountant at the Brad Tetz Professional Corporation where she prepared federal and provincial corporate and personal tax returns and provided financial training to clients. During this time, she also was contracted out to work as a Staff Auditor at the Auditor General of Alberta.
While working as a staff accountant, Greta also took on work in the education sector, where she worked as a Tutor for Services for Students with Disabilities at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT), where she tutored students in accounting, finances, and economics. After receiving her accounting designation, Greta began work at MNP, where she has risen up the ranks, working as a Designated Professional, Manager, and Senior Manager.
Greta earned her Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology, where she graduated with honours and a 4.0 GPA. After graduating, she attended the CA School of Business, where she successfully completed the UFE and all six CASB modules. In her spare time, Greta is active in her community, where she sits on boards, volunteers at the local food bank, volunteers with CPA Alberta tax clinics, and plays piano for her church.
