The Hazardous Materials Awareness certification course is designed to increase your awareness about the many dangers involved with incidents or situations involving hazardous materials or weapons of mass destruction.

You are taught how to take appropriate action in terms of protecting yourself, securing a perimeter, and responding to emergency hazmat situations, including available resources.

Designed for first responders to protect themselves and the public

This course is designed for first responders (fire, police, EMS, and industry personnel) who may be faced with situations involving hazardous materials and incidents or emergencies with weapons of mass destruction.

This course stresses how personnel can protect themselves, initiate proper responses, and secure the area protecting both themselves and the community. This course is also a prerequisite if you seek certification as an NFPA 1081 Industrial Firefighter.
