This course is designed for individuals with a Canadian Language Benchmark of 5+.

  • Module 1: Speaking Up for Safety
  • Module 2: The Three Rights of Alberta Workers
  • Module 3: The Right to Participate/Health and Safety Representatives
  • Module 4: Keys to Safety: Empathy and Accountability
The 'Firefighter Comprehensive Training' delivered by Norquest College will be monumental in changing the lives of the IETP (Integrated Employment Training Program) trainees and the residents of Lubicon Lake Band.  Norquest College was given the opportunity to provide the training based on several factors: 1. A customized training that enables the trainees to stay close to home. 2. Without hesitation Norquest College came out to the community to provide information on the program.
The signing of the long standing land claim in October allows the people of Lubicon Lake Band to have new homes, a new school and essential services  like the new Fire Hall build.
The trainees from the IETP and Norquest College are breaking ground in the area of emergency services in the community of Little Buffalo and surrounding area (Presently the only emergency services available are provided by Peace River which is a 196km away).
