Diversity at Work: Making It Safe for Everyone (CLB 3-4)

Designed with the support of the Government of Alberta, Ministry of Labour, this interactive, online course is for safety supervisors, internationally trained individuals, and anyone who wants to be safer on the job.


Course information

Diversity at Work: Making It Safe for Everyone has four main topics/modules and takes between 1-2 hours to complete. All of the modules have videos of a culturally diverse team at work.

These videos highlight important safety and communication challenges that the team works through to build trust, be more accountable, and most importantly, to be safer on the job.

This course is designed for individuals with a Canadian Language Benchmark of 3 - 4.

This course contains the following modules:
  • Lesson 1 - Safety Hazards
  • Lesson 2 - Employer Responsibilities for Safety
  • Lesson 3 - Responsibilities of Workers for Safety
  • Lesson 4 - Case Study

This training (NFPA 1001 Firefighter Training) means so much to me because if I don't take this course I will never be a firefighter, which I intend to become. It is enjoyable and very exciting to know that I will be helping and protecting my friends and family.
