The Leadership Institute

Over the last 10 years, the work of NorQuest College's Centre for Intercultural Education (CIE) was dedicated to assisting the workforce with intercutural training. With continual research and growth, the CIE grew to include training, workshops, and research projects around diversity and inclusion.

In 2018, the CIE was given a remarkable gift to support it's continual growth from Dr. S. Ann Colbourne, Chair of the NorQuest College Board of Governors. Because of her leadership and generosity, the CIE was renamed as the Colbourne Institute for Inclusive Leadership in her honour.

How do diversity and inclusion add value to your business?

The business case for diversity and inclusion at times focuses on how diverse teams are masters at innovation. So what’s a leader's role in managing diverse teams? Why don’t organizational systems and structures support diversity in ways that are more meaningful? In this short, five-minute talk, NorQuest College’s Erin Waugh, Lead Consultant, Diversity & Inclusion, talks about how superhero teams can teach us something about diversity and how we are all accountable to call on the superpowers we possess towards a more inclusive workplace.
