Promoting Indigenous Awareness: The Elders Speak - XLAN 2063

As part of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s call to action, this workshop supports ESL practitioners with content and strategies to teach newcomers about the country’s Indigenous history and cultures. Participants will learn to identify content that newcomers need to understand in order to counter misinformation and bias towards Indigenous Canadians, understand the principles of Indigenous teaching and learning, and develop strategies to teach newcomers about Indigenous peoples and cultures in Canada.
